Time Tourist is a new kind of immersive pop-up experience — a free, all-ages experience created expressly for the public benefit.
Created by a volunteer organization of nearly 30 leading professionals from the worlds of theme park, game, television and immersive design who come together once a year to make something more meaningful than mere entertainment.

Players race around town to discover fun-and-funny playable pop-ups that reveal the story of why today, of all days, is so dang interesting to the people of the future.

We’re aware that we’re making something a little bit different. Here’s how it works…

Time Tours Incorporated is the volunteer organization of creative collaborators who work akin to an immersive workers cooperative. Nobody’s making money — these folks donate their time and talents to do good. Our finances are internally transparent and we’re fiscally sponsored by the 501(c)(3) Playable Theater.
Every year in some new small town between San Francisco and LA they produce an original 3-day immersive festival & game called TIME TOURIST.

Time Tourist is a costumes-mandatory ticketed event in which participants play as amnesiac time travelers who race from location to location to decipher a legendary historic event they travelled here to witness — and recreationally forgot — to heighten its entertainment value.
This is a unique kind of immersive experience for a unique immersive audience. Our ticketed participants are playful people who might welcome the opportunity for some friendly, safe and structured socialization. This is the kind of person who goes to Disneyland and thinks, “The real fun would be to MAKE the magic!”
Our game isn’t a LARP. It’s simple theme play.
No advance preparation required.
Just show up (in costume) and play along.
( Friday, Sept 18th – Night Time )
The Time Tourists get an immersive welcome party at THE TIME ZONE on Thursday, Sept 18th. This is an interactive theatrical performance with themed food & beverage in a futuristic themed environment — not available to the public. Bedtime is at 11pm at nearby hotel, camping or RV accommodations, because tomorrow is the main event.
On Saturday, Sept 19th, at 10:01 am is the TIME TRAVEL CONVENTION.

This is a full day long festival of hidden games and live theatrical events staged all around the town of Fillmore which tell the story of why today, of all days, is so dang interesting to the people of the future. The story is a funny and uplifting love-letter to Fillmore, California — and it’s free for everyone.
The game is simple — the Time Tourists race around in costume following a futuristic device called the Time Cookie that lets them experience all the fascinating quirks today has to offer. It tells them the what, where and when an event of historical significance — big or small — is about to happen.
The people of Fillmore also learn to play together using this miraculous device. And what happens next — more than the cultural enrichment, more than the local business support, more than outdoor play with new friends and neighbors — is the greatest public benefit of our event…
The people of the future let us keep the Time Cookie.
Only now, the futuristic artifact we’ve been using to discover our city with fresh eyes, lets folks go when and where they’re needed to help their neighbors and engage in participatory civic life. “Time banking,” an established method for coordinating volunteerism, is reimagined as a community game for helping each other. And it’s all free.
( Saturday, Sept 19th – Night Time )
The Time Tourists return to THE TIME ZONE and must stand trial for their TIME CRIMES. The less you know about that, the better. But it’s the immersive finale party with a new interactive theatrical performance and themed dining experience — not available to the public. Tonight, there is no mandatory bedtime — this is the climactic event.

Remember Time Tours Incorporated? That group of nearly 30 hotshot creative professionals from every big entertainment company donating their time and talents in the public service? Well, for the first time in 6 months — they’re off work. The public is happy. The ticketed participant Time Tourists are safely headed home. Sunday is the Time Tours Inc — COMPANY PICNIC where we crack a brew, write down everything we want to do differently next year, and celebrate a job well done.
Funny creative play and collaboration in the public benefit is at the heart of what we’re building. And we think we’ve found an exciting new model to make the world a better place. We want to make doing good — great.

The Immersive Welcome Party
An original interactive theatrical performance with themed dining
Ticketed Participants – the Time Tourists – arrive, receive their briefings, and enter the world. A private party for ticketed guests in mandatory costumes at a secret venue. Guests are onboarded with a fully interactive theatrical show, paired with a themed dining experience created by amazing food scientists.
